rotary lobe positive displacement pump
This page coordinates comparable factory quotations for a rotary lobe positive displacement pump. Suppliers must quote the same fluid, viscosity at temperature, solids, shear, flow range, differential pressure and seal arrangement. Lobe geometry that is published for hygienic transfer is a family example. It is not a default for abrasive or fibrous wastewater unless the factory writes that the rotors and elastomers match the actual fluid.
Positive Displacement Pump Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. We restack included motors, bases, instruments, installation, shipping, training and commissioning so two replies can be read on one assumption list. We do not run the sample trial, set relief valves, or accept the installation. Tooling, site work and spare parts that are not listed remain exclusions until a supplier names them.
Service stage and responsibilities
Sample trial
- Sample trial: Upstream
- The buyer supplies the fluid identity, viscosity at operating temperature, solids, shear limits, required flow with test conditions, suction description, quantity, destination and the lobe/seal preference if any. If CIP is claimed, state the cleaning fluid and drain requirement. If wastewater is the duty, state grit, rag and chemical compatibility instead of copying a sanitary curve. Connected load in kW is sized after the factory selects speed, not guessed from another plant.
- Control boundary
- The factory confirms whether the quoted rotary lobe geometry, clearances and seal arrangement can run at that duty, and states how blocked-discharge protection is provided or excluded. Relief set pressure, bypass piping and interlocks are not assumed to live inside the pump casing. Three-phase supply voltage, frequency and footprint must appear on the same reply if they affect the drive. Positive Displacement Pump Sourcing does not rewrite those engineering choices.
- Downstream
- Comparable quotes list included items and exclusions: motor, coupling, base, instruments, seals, shipping, installation, training, commissioning, FAT, SAT and spare parts. Acceptance remains between the buyer and the equipment supplier named in any later contract. A published hygienic family page is a technical reference, not a sourcing-service performance promise.
